How to Make a Hot Wheels Car Garage

To get started, you will need a shoebox, a thick piece of cardboard, empty toilet paper rolls, poster board from the Dollar Tree, colored foam sheets, a large marker, scissors, and a glue gun.

Plug in your glue gun (turn it on if it has an on/off switch). Using your poster board, cover your shoebox accordingly.

Glue each paper roll into their designated area.

Another part of this activity is making a play mat to use your cars on on the underside of the showbox lid. Cut out your craft foam shapes for your “play mat.” Grab your rigid cardboard piece and glue your chosen foam pieces to form your desired landscape. We made a winding road, a pond, some grass & mud.

Use your large black marker and write “GARAGE” on the top flap.

Or perhaps you’d like to write your child’s name. Get creative!

Materials

Shoe Box (11”L x 8” W x 4 3/4 “ H)
1 piece of cardstock (11”L x 7”)
24 Empty Toilet Paper Rolls (You can also cut paper towel rolls to size)
Posterboard from dollar store, your color choice
Assorted colored crafting foam sheets
Large Black Marker
Scissors
Glue Gun (and Glue Sticks)

Instructions
