How to become more stylish
Being stylish is a subjective idea as it can mean different things to different people. A common impression is that being stylish means spending money on expensive clothing and jewelry. However, that is not the case. You can be stylish in a lot of different ways.

What does being stylish mean?
The true definition of being stylish tends to mean being fashionable, smart or elegant. All these descriptors are flexible and open to interpretation, which is great for anyone trying to figure out their version of being stylish. It is all down to understanding your body, feeling confident and experimenting with your sense of style.
There are many ways in which you can begin to up your fashion game and become more stylish. Here are a few ideas to get you started on your journey:
Only keep clothes that fit you
We’re all guilty of keeping clothes that no longer fit us for that magical day that maybe they might. Typically, we tend to keep clothes that are too small in the hopes that losing weight and wearing them again is possible. It is common for clothes like this to invoke negative feelings and therefore wearing them can affect our confidence.
You can always reframe this idea and see the opportunity to make some money by selling your pre-loved clothes and putting the proceeds towards something special. Another positive is that there will be more wardrobe space and less clutter!
Experiment with different styles and accessories
Finding your confidence can be a long process that some people only achieve when they are older. Experimenting with different pieces that are outside your comfort zone can be daunting but it is all about taking it slowly.
One way to step outside your confidence is to try different styles of an item you already like wearing. If you are a fan of dresses and they make you feel amazing, why not try a different style of dress that you have previously shied away from?
You could also try accessorising in different ways to see if a new style can fit your body. One easy change would be to pair the dress with black stockings and see if that causes a change that you like. Stockings themselves can be a confidence-boosting garment to try!
Use social media for inspiration
Although social media has a lot of negative connotations, it can be perfect for finding different styles you like. Try to find someone with a similar body shape to yourself and see what they are wearing. From there, you can find new brands that you like.
As ever, remember that social media can be retouched and edited, so look after your mental health when looking at these posts and trying to find inspiration.
