This post was sponsored by Jelt. All opinions are our own.
Planning to go on a trip? If you travel often, your packing list is probably quite extensive. If you feel like it's hard to pack everything in one suitcase, this post is for you! There are plenty of ways to cut down on how many items you need for your next adventure, and this men's minimalist travel guide will help you streamline your suitcases. Inspired by the flexibility and spontaneity of Jelt, we will take you through some tips and tricks t help you pack for your next trip in a hurry without a lot of fuss.

To prepare for your next trip, create a simple packing list. What can't you leave home without? Everyone will have a different list of essentials.
What should I pack for my next minimalist trip?
- Clothing that has multiple uses and can be easily mixed and matched
- Accessories, such as a simple belt from Jelt, along with socks
- Sandals or shoes that can work with a variety of outfits
- Sturdy, waterproof shoes
- Sunglasses and a hat for protection
- Sunscreen
- Toiletries
- Swimwear (if you're going to a beach or pool) and a waterproof backpack
- Phone, electronics, and chargers for each
- Reusable water bottle with a filter
How can I minimize the clothes I pack?
Once you have your standard list together, the next step is to find outfits for multiple occasions so there's less clutter in the clothing department.
Pack multi-use, versatile clothing. These are clothes that can be worn for different activities and scenarios, which cuts down on how many articles you need to bring. Choose items that are quick-drying or don't show sweat. If you're heading somewhere tropical, then it's probably not a good idea to wear something with cotton in it since this fabric holds onto moisture and can end up smelling after one day of use. Instead, opt for pieces made from synthetic fabric like polyester which dry quickly and don't hold onto smells so you can wear them more than once.

Don't forget a belt. We were first introduced to Jelt recently, and my partner was thrilled to try an easy-to-use and comfortable belt to wear whenever… but especially on the go! These belts also don’t contain metal, so you can wear them through security at the airport! Let's hear his review so you can see just how much he loved it:

I am so glad to have the Jelt! I was searching for a belt for a long time, actually; looking for the right size with some elastic stretch for flexibility and an easy-to-use clasp. After buying a couple of pricy faux leather belts, I tried the Jelt. I found so many of my issues solved with one simple yet strong and reliable belt. I use my Jelt every time I need a belt. And since the belt is black, it goes with every outfit. I love that it holds onto my pants and shorts with the non-slip inner grippy gel and keeps them up around my hips. The sleek magnetic clasp is more helpful than I originally thought and I'm glad it's a part of the standard. I love that they made these belts from recycled water bottles too! Not only sustainable and reliable, but Jelt also gives back to combat veterans like me. Jelt donates at least 2% of annual gross profits to organizations supporting veterans, kids, and the environment.

Remember to pack layers! Those who live or travel in colder climates may need some warm clothes for the journey. It's best to bring them even if you think it won't get cold since planes can be very chilly when they're flying at high altitudes. If you have a big coat or sweater, then try rolling it up tightly so that it takes up less space.
Become a master at packing cubes. I can't stress enough how much these things help with sanity while traveling! They organize your suitcases into different compartments and make everything so easy to find. Make sure you get the right sizes for maximum efficiency, too.
Tips for traveling as a minimalist
- Tightly roll up your clothing so that they take up less space
- Use luggage that has special compartments like a built-in suiter or shoe bag so you can separate your clothes from other items
- Pack any liquids or gels in your carry-on rather than checking them
- Pack an empty water bottle and fill it up at your destination instead of buying individual bottles which creates more waste
- Take only the essentials. This requires some serious self-control in order to leave behind everything that's not essential, but it will make your life so much easier in the long run!
- Avoid checking your luggage. It's better to travel light and carry on your bags since this allows you to easily go through security without having to wait for the rest of your stuff. There may be times when it makes sense (or is unavoidable) but try not to do this too often if possible!
- Pack a separate bag for dirty laundry
