Back to School Book Club Party
While I'm still in disbelief that the back to school season is upon us, it's time just to embrace it. I mean, I do love a good school supply sale! With kids heading back to school, some busy moms are able to switch gears and focus on new projects and activities. Instead of entertaining their kids on hot summer days, they can enjoy other social gatherings. Perhaps, a book club? Whether you have a book club or want to start one, it is a fun way to get together over drinks and snacks. For a recent get together with my girlfriends, I created a fun book club party. While we hadn't read any books as of yet, we wanted to get organized and take note on what we want to read. I brought out some books I recently purchased, and we discussed which ones will make our calendar. Oh, and I can't forget the drinks and snacks!

Book Club Party Inspiration

Prepare a cool drink. I like to serve infused water in drink dispensers since it's easy and a crowd pleaser. You can experiment with different fruits and flavors, but I always seem to fall back on my usual: lemon and mint! You can try this cucumber and basil infused water recipe as well.

Serve a hot dip. This buffalo dip is easy to make and will be gone quickly! I promise. I always have celery, tortilla chips, and crackers on hand to serve as well. Add a veggie tray and fresh fruit, and you have yourself a party.

Set the theme. Since it's back-to-school time, I wanted to use some of the fun and colorful school supplies as decor. These bright pencils paired with aqua staplers made the party decor pop.

Favors are always appreciated. I stocked up on a few notepads for my guests to take home with them. These Smudge Ink notepads are some of my favorites.

The hot topic of the afternoon was which book would we read first? It was pretty easy to come to the conclusion that Wild would be the next book on our list. The movie comes out in December, and we want to make sure we finish it before then. Reese Witherspoon plays the lead, and it is a powerful trailer!

Hosting a book club party was a fun way to celebrate the end of the summer.
