This is not a good time to try and have her cuddle with you on the couch. Instead, try playing with her and tiring her out first. Once she is tired out, she will be more likely to sit on your lap or beside you.
3. Build Connections. Just like kids, cats need to know they can trust you. They need to know you are their family. Focus on calm interactions with your cat. Play with her, pet her, give her treats. Again, this takes time – it’s not overnight. One positive experience does not a lap cat make.

7. The Cat is Always Right. Cats will let you know when they have had enough.
